Dhanurasana
Dhanurasana is an asana in which the body resembles the shape of a bow in the final position. The asana is very commonly known as Bow Pose as well. It is one of the steps of the popular sequence of asanas known as PadhmaSadhana. Successful practicing of Dhanurasana has been known to alleviate a lot of difficulties, both physical and mental.
How to Go About It
- First, lie down with your stomach facing down, and keep your feet slightly apart.
- Extend your hands and grab the ankles of the respective legs. Bend the legs as well to make this possible.
- With the ankles grabbed, take a deep breath in and lift your chest.
- At the same time, pull your legs up using the hands as well.
- In the final position, the body attains the shape of a bow.
- Try to remain in this position comfortably for at least 15-20 seconds, after which you can exhale and bring your body to rest.
