Plavini Pranayama
Plavani is not any normal pranayama or breathing technique. It is a special technique by which the practitioner can experience feelings of floating on a river or water body just like a lotus leaf. A student of Plavani actually drinks air like water and fills his stomach with it, which results in the stomach getting inflated. The body produces a peculiar sound on mild tapping.

- Practising this pranayama leads to large quantities of blood flowing very rapidly through the body, there by expelling all types of toxins that might have accumulated over the ages.

How to Practise Plavini Pranayama?
- Unlike all other pranayama, this pranayama is done best in Savashana, or the asana that resembles the dead body.
- Lie down on the mat and place your hands on your sides
- At the top of your breath try to relax, without putting any pressure on your heart
- Practise inhalation and exhalation of air peacefully for few seconds.
- After exhalation relax and wait for a signal from the naval chakra. On receiving the signal inhale
- Try to hold on to the air for as long as possible
- As you exhale, leave a little air in your lungs, as this will help to prolong the tome for relaxation.
Precautions
- Plavini Pranayama is a classical pranayama and requires extreme level of practise. If you are a beginner do not attempt this pranayama.
- Always perform this pranayama, under the guidance of an experienced teacher.
- Make sure the breathing is always through the nose and follows a slow and rhythmic beat
